Agrolaguna’s operations and products paint a true picture of indigenous Istria through the tastes and fragrances of wines, cheeses and olive oils. These production units also form the company’s operations: winegrowing, olive growing and livestock breeding, which take place on 1200 ha of tilled land, mainly olive groves, vineyards and pastures. All of Agrolaguna’s products are regionally exceptionally well-known brands. The olive oil, wines and cheeses are sold under the brands “Ol Istria”, “Vina Laguna” and “Sir Špin”, respectively.

Agrestis is based in Buccheri, a small town in the hinterland of Syracuse. The whole area, at an altitude of about 820 meters above sea level, is made of steep hills, beautiful woods, and ravines and the olives represent a culture for centuries. Giuseppe Paparone and Lorenzo Nicotra, launched the small cooperative in 2003, to protect the century-old trees growing on the steep lands nearby and to turn domestic production into a quality business. From the beginning, the main philosophy for their project consists in guarantee high quality for a “precious aliment” which is the expression of the Sicilian traditions. Nuestra estrategia de campo radica en ser un modelo productivo en zonas rurales, sostenible, que crea riqueza y que ayuda a la fijación de población en nuestro pueblo. El nombre de nuestra empresa proviene de una palabra peculiar que usan los habitantes de nuestro pueblo. “ Queo ” significa parsimonia y tranquilidad. Así son nuestros olivares, un remanso de paz en la campiña jienense capaz de producir las mejores aceitunas para crear el mejor producto de nuestra tierra: el AOVE.
