Olive oil, this precious commodity was so revered that Kings, Bishops and Popes were anointed with it to confirm their status and authority. Eventually all citizens anoint their babies with olive oil as part of the sacrament of baptism. Our family follows this tradition since the late 18th century in Kleisoura Messinias and this experience has been t ransformed into an art.
